Esther McMahon

Violinist

Violinist Esther McMahon is an extremely seasoned and accomplished musician, at home in a wide variety of genres including classical, fiddle, pop, and rock. Esther has studied with Susanna Klein, Matt Combs, and most recently graduated from Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music under Professor Christian Teal. In 2008, she was invited with her string quartet to attend the Aix-en-Provence festival in France to perform and work with members of the Berlin Philharmonic. The following spring, Esther spent five months in Vienna, Austria studying with renowned soloist, Barbara Gorzynska. In addition to pursuing a career in classical music, Esther is quite adept in the recording studio. She has had the opportunity to work with many Nashville based artists including Jessica Campbell, Josiah Hawley, Molly Jewell, and Caitlin Nethery. Esther has also worked with several talented producers, including Ben Shive, Scott Hundley, and Nick Spezia.

Michael O'Gieblyn

Violinist/Violist

An accomplished violinist, violist, and versatile musician, Michael O'Gieblyn adroitly navigates across musical genres including classical, Broadway, fiddle, and pop music. He performed in the world premiere of the Broadway musical The Glorious Ones, playing solo violin and mandolin, and on the soundtrack to the 2006 MGM motion picture Home of the Brave. An avid chamber musician, he was recently featured on two newly released CD’s by Paul Luc and Christina Chirumbolo.

Mr. O’Gieblyn participated in international summer festivals in Montpellier, France; Beverly Hills, CA; and Pilsen, Czech Republic, and received the “Marilyn and Ray Gindroz Prize” to study in Europe. He holds a degree with honors in violin performance from Carnegie Mellon University where he studied with Cyrus Forough. Mr. O’Gieblyn has performed with the Erie Philharmonic, McKeesport Symphony, and the Österreich Vienna Classic Philharmonic's 2010 tour.

Linsey Smith-Trolstle

Cellist

Hi! I’m Lindsey Smith-Trostle, aka Lulu Love. As the contractor and founder of Athena Strings, I thought I’d let you all know a little bit about my experience. I have recorded on records such as Kacey Musgraves, Yelawolf, Beyoncé, Jack White, Alicia Keys, Kirk Franklin, Anthony Hamilton, Tanya Tucker, Mikky Echo, Pokey LaFarge, several local artists like Ruby Amanfu, Lucie Silvas, Andrew Combs, Steelism, Caitlin Rose, Charlie Worsham, Joshua Hedley, Fiona Culley, Gabe Dixon, Etta & Bob Britt & Ben Sturgell, just to name a few. Performed live with Lucie Silvas, Ruby Amanfu, Disturbed, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Quiet Entertainer, Etta Britt, Fee Culley, Heather Bond, Amy Grant, Glen Campbell, Smokey Robinson and many more local artists. I’ve had the honor of playing for Benjamin Zander and the Tokyo String Quartet. I’ve also played several musicals...including Kinky Boots at TPAC, The Last Five Years & Sweeney Todd at TPAC for Nashville Rep, Fiddler on the Roof for Studio Tenn, and countless others for Street Theater, Blackbird Theater, Ladybug Theater, Lipscomb, Belmont, and several other local Theater companies.
