Anna Kostyuchek


Since arriving in the United States in 1996, violinist Anna Kostyuchek has established herself as an important contributor to musical life in Los Angeles, performing with such legends as Stevie Wonder, Burt Bacharach and Tony Bennett, appearing in Elton John's music video "The Heart of Every Girl," and playing in the orchestra for American Idol in 2008. Anna has been a member of the Stuttgart Festival Ensemble in Germany for four consecutive years, where she plays under world-renowned conductor Helmuth Rilling. She has also played for Michael Tilson Thomas Justus Frantz, David Newman and John Williams. Anna has just returned from a tour of Holland, Germany, Sicily and the Canary Islands with Philharmonie der Nationen. Here in Los Angeles, Anna is a member of the Riverside Philharmonic, as well as the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Santa Cecilia orchestras. She has also performed with the Pasadena Symphony and Pasadena Pops Orchestra, as well as with the Operetta Foundation, Center Stage Opera and Long Beach Opera.

Alan Busteed


Alan Busteed studied at the Manhattan School of Music in New York and completed graduate work at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He has served as a guest principal with the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and the Asian-American Philharmonic of Los Angeles. His viola credits extend to performances with the San Diego, Fort Worth, Long Beach and Redlands Symphonies, the Fresno Philharmonic, the St. Matthews Chamber Orchestra of Los Angeles and with the Desert Symphony in Palm Springs. As a recording artist he has collaborated with several Oscar winning composers for film music. His ongoing list of television credits at Capitol Records in Los Angeles includes viola work on scores for the shows Boston Legal, Fringe, Under Covers, Brothers and Sisters, and Grey’s Anatomy. 

Mary Anne Steinbrenner


Mary Anne Steinbrenner is a member of the Blackbird Trio, with Nancy Roth on violin and her husband, the distinguished composer and pianist Alan Steinberger. They have performed and recorded throughout greater Los Angeles to acclaim. Mary Anne Steinberger is active as a cellist in the television and film industry, with credits including The Cat In The Hat, Matrix Reloaded, Fantasia 2000, King Of The Hill, Futurama, The Simpsons, and solo cello on A Walk To Remember.Ms. Steinberger serves a principal cellist in the Downey Symphony, with whom she recently soloed on the Brahms Double Concerto, and has also appeared in concert with the Pasadena, Pacific, New West, and Long Beach Symphonies, L.A. Baroque Orchestra, and in recital with the Blackbird Trio.

Nancy Roth


​Nancy Roth holds a Doctorate from USC in Musical Arts and earned a Master's Degree from Juilliard. She is concertmaster and frequent soloist with the Culver City Symphony and serves as principal second violinist of the Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay. She has performed to acclaim as violin soloist with numerous regional orchestras around Los Angeles. Nancy is a member of the Pasadena Symphony. She has been a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, was co-principal violist of the Graz Philharmonic in Austria, and played concertmaster for many years with the San Fernando Valley Symphony.  Her solo and chamber music recitals have been performed in the United States, Mexico and Austria, and she has recorded for radio broadcasts by KUSC, KFAC and the Austrian Rundfunk. She is a member of the String Family Players and the Blackbird Trio.  Dr. Roth records for films and television. Film projects include A Beautiful Mind, Death to Smoochy, The Affair of the Necklace, Windtalkers, Bandits, Dr. Dolittle 2, Swordfish, Exit Wounds and The Glass House. Her TV work can be heard in “King of the Hill,” “Family Guy,” and “West Wing.”
