Kansas City

John Eadie


A member of the Kansas City Symphony since 2009, John Eadie received his Bachelor of Music in violoncello performance from Butler University in Indianapolis, and his Master of Music from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Before moving to Kansas City, John was a founding member of the Mill City String Quartet, and was an active freelancer in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. He has also been a member of the New World Symphony Orchestra. An avid lover of chamber music, John has performed for the Kansas City Symphony Happy Hour Chamber Music Series, the Ruel Joyce Recital Series, the Summerfest Concert Series, the Minnesota Chamber Music Society and many more. 

Rena Ishii


Rena Ishii holds Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in violin performance from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She continued her studies with William Preucil at Cleveland Institute of Music and received Professional Studies Certificate. Rena joined the Kansas City Symphony in 2011. She has been active teaching and performing with groups such as Kansas City Chamber Orchestra and Summer Fest. 

Jenifer Richison


Originally from Pismo Beach, California, Jenifer Richison began the violin at age five with the Solvang Conservatory, under the tutelage of Diane Byington. Avidly performing around the Central Coast while growing up, Jenifer won prizes in several competitions, including the National Exchange Club and Applause music competitions. At age 11, Ms. Richison won a spot in the Disney National Youth Orchestra, and performed under conductors such as Jung-Ho Pak, Daniel Hege, and Henry Mancini. During this time, Jenifer also actively performed in musical theater, commercials and TV shows. In high school, Jenifer performed with the All State Orchestra on both violin and viola, All State Choir, and was awarded a scholarship to the summer program at Idyllwild Arts Academy at 14. Switching from the violin to the viola at 19, she completed her undergraduate work at Southern Methodist University as a student of Barbara Sudweeks. Ms. Richison has soloed with several orchestras on the viola, including the National Repertory Orchestra. For several seasons, Jenifer also performed vocal solos with the National Repertory Orchestra. She was Co-Principal of the New World Symphony, in Miami, Florida from 2005 to 2007. While performing with the New World Symphony, she held a position with the Verbier Orchestra, based out of Switzerland, and toured Europe, Asia, and Australia with them. She also frequently tours and plays with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Richison joined the Kansas City Symphony in the September of 2007. Ms. Richison plays on a L'Humbert viola, made in Paris, 1924

Chia Fei Lin


A graduate from Cleveland Institute and University of Missouri, Kansas City, Ms. Lin is currently a member of Kansas City Symphony. Ms. Lin was a recipient of Graduate Teaching Assistant scholarship at UMKC, where she served as the first violinist of the Graduate String Quartet for three years. Ms. Lin is also on faculty with the Heartland Chamber Music Festival. She performs chamber music concerts regularly with Kansas City Symphony musicians.

Ellen O'Hayer


Ellen O'Hayer received her Bachelor's Degree in Cello Performance from the DePaul University School of Music in Chicago. She is a member of the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, and has held section positions with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Quad City Symphony, as well as a principal position with the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. Ellen is an active performer and teacher in the Kansas City/Lawrence area.
